Presidential Evaluation
Each winter, the University Senate invites its constituents to evaluate the job that Michigan Tech President Glenn D. Mroz has done over the past year. Last year, a lengthy survey accompanied by an even longer personal statement from Dr. Mroz produced an extremely low (11.8 percent) response.
This year, the Senate Administrative Policy Committee has shortened and simplified the survey, focusing on your opinions on matters of which you may have first-hand knowledge. Dr. Mroz also has condensed his personal statement to a brief executive summary and a 5-page, data-driven explanation of the points in that executive summary.
For the first time this year, at the request of Dr. Mroz
in response to a request made of him at a University Forum, union-represented
staff and part-time staff and faculty who are not Senate constituents are
also being invited to complete the presidential evaluation.
Also for the first time, an off-campus vendor is administering the survey
to increase the confidentiality of your response.
Senate constituents were invited to complete the survey between February 19
and March 8, 2008. The response topped 30 percent. Those who are not Senate
constituents will be able to take the survey from March 31 to April 18, 2008.
The results will be shared with the President and the Michigan Tech Board
of Control.
To access the web-based survey, participants must use the survey ID they received
in an invitation email. If you did not receive a survey ID or have misplaced
yours, please contact Brenda Helminen at brenda@mtu.edu
The survey should take no longer than 15 minutes
to complete. We value your opinion and encourage you to read the President’s
statements and then complete the survey.
Your response matters.
