Alumni Night with the Grand Rapids Griffins
A Tribute to the movie "Slapshot"

Our Fourth Annual MTU Alumni Night with the Griffins took place on Friday evening, March 18, 2005.
It was a tribulte to the classic film "Slapshot", and the Hason Brothers from the legendary Charston Chiefs were on hand for the event!

A group of 89 alumni, family and friends still enjoyed snacks, a free raffle for MTU stuff, meeting the Hanson Brothers for personalized autographs, and, of course, socializing with other MTU alumni.

Despite a 36 to 26 shots-on-goal advantage, the Grand Rapids Griffins came up on the short end of the stick with a 2-0 loss to the Edmonton Road Runners.  For the game, the Grand Rapids Griffins players wore jerseys from the Charston Chiefs in commemoration of the movie.  These jerseys were then raffled off after the game.
