The 9th Annual West Michigan Alumni Association Golf Outing was held on June 2, 2007.This year, our event moved to the beautiful Deer Run Golf Course in Lowell. Deer Run Golf Club was built in 1969 and opened for play in 1973. It has matured into one of the greatest tests of golf in West Michigan. The well manicured golf course stretches out to nearly 7,000 yards from the back tees and is as challenging from tee to green as any golf course in the state. It is surrounded by stands of oak trees and apple orchards.
We had another great turnout for this, our 9th Annual, event. The weather threatened in the morning, but fortunately the rain held off until after the golfing was done. The format of the outing was once again a 4-person scramble. Prizes were awarded for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams.
After the golf event, we enjoyed grilled hamburgers and chicken, as well as a few well-deserved "refreshments" in the clubhouse. Below are a couple of candid "shots" (from the most important part of the golf outing, of course...)

Thanks go out to Robin Vincek for once again putting on a first-class event! As always, the proceeds from this event go to the MTU West Michigan Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund that will benefit children of MTU Alumni attending Michigan Tech.
