Third Annual West Michigan Alumni Golf Outing

The Third Annual West Michigan Alumni Golf Outing was held on August 11, 2001 event at the Grand Haven Golf Club, in Grand Haven, Michigan.

The scramble format had seven players, with two players non-MTU alum. We all met at Damon's Restaurant in Grand Haven after golfing and had ribs and adult beverages (beer) for lunch. It was fun talking with a wide range of MTU Alumni, ranging from 4 years out of school to over 35 years of experience. Primarily, the participants were from the Lake Michigan coastline area with a few from the Grand Rapids metro area.

Both groups were under par for the 18 hole scramble. Every participant won a prize and left with a MTU logo item. The golfing and weather was great on this tight, but beautiful course carved through the west Michigan forested coastline.

The event netted a profit of approximately $365 for the West Michigan Chapter.

We are looking for input from area alumni for next year's event. Preliminarily, we are looking at the 2002 event to be held in September on a Saturday, in the Grand Rapids metro area.
